Proudly independent, HWB is a mid-sized agency that offers our clients a bespoke service and a track record of delivery in the media, marketing and stakeholder engagement space. We have extensive experience of collaborations with multiple agencies and clients’ internal teams to successfully implement PR and communications strategies. We benchmark our efficacy against our clients’ objectives and realise that although measurable outcomes are an integral element of any strategy, so too is the need to revise and retro-fit as required. Our approach is four-pronged: strategy development, tactical development; implementation; and measurement and reporting. HWB Communications is positioned to provide clients with immediate national and regional PR and media support through our relationship with close associates, amongst others in Durban – as and when the need for localised support arises. We are globally active through the Public Relations Global Network (PRGN) of which our Founding Director, Evelyn John Holtzhausen is President. This enables us to give our clients access to the expertise and resources of more than 45 partner agencies across the world. Our team of Strategists, PR practitioners and Project Managers and Journalists work together in four specialist teams to combine insights, creativity and flawless implementation to deliver campaigns for clients, nationally and in Africa. Our permanent professional team comprises journalists, a strategic team of PR practitioners/marketers, media specialists and a project management, PR and media support team. HWB is further supported by long-standing associates in Durban and Johannesburg with a team of healthcare/financial/business and generalist writers. PR and Communications secondment and mentorship: “Stand-in Programme” for in-house heads of communications and marketing between appointments or during extended absences.

Conference marketing and publicity: Marketing and PR support for conferences nationally and in Africa.

Content Development: Includes the development of publicity and communications materials such as press releases, feature/opinion pieces, specialist text, reports, speeches; translation and editing services.

Reputational Risk and Crisis Management: HWB is a highly regarded Reputational Risk Management expert and we have successfully protected our clients’ reputations behind the scenes and in front of the camera.
