Most companies my size don't need "a developer." They need someone who owns the IT and understands the business behind it. For 12 years I was the sole technical decision-maker at a Finnish logistics company — no IT team, just me: the website, the customer portal, the servers, the integrations with accounting and customs, the documents that had to go out every day without fail. 99.9% uptime. One person. That taught me what most developers never learn: in a real business, IT isn't about technology — it's about making the business run, and about the numbers, contracts and taxes behind every decision. Since then I've launched and rebuilt products end-to-end — an e-commerce platform across 25+ European markets with automated order processing, an AI chatbot answering in 30 languages 24/7 — and I run my own IT company. I work as an independent technical partner (contractor, not full-time), typically 10–30 hours a week: Non-IT businesses — I make the website the backbone: connect it to CRM, ERP, production and payments, so an order runs from checkout to delivery on its own Funded startups — fractional technical partner from architecture to shipped: MVPs, integrations, payments, infrastructure Agencies — senior extra capacity for complex builds and rescue work I'm not the right fit for the cheapest-freelancer search, pixel-perfect HTML from a finished design, or teams that already have a full in-house engineering department. Description You hired a developer, things went wrong, and now you have a codebase you can't ship — or a live system that's falling apart. Or your own team got overwhelmed and the project stalled six months ago. There's a newer flavour of this too: codebases built mostly by AI — Cursor on autopilot, an LLM-driven weekend MVP, a junior dev who accepted every Copilot suggestion. The code compiles, the tests pass, the structure looks vaguely right. It's still broken — just in less obvious ways. I've taken over projects in bad shape before, including both kinds. Most of this work is legacy application modernisation done surgically: the first thing I do is understand what's actually there before recommending what to do about it. Sometimes the code is salvageable with targeted refactoring. Sometimes a partial rewrite is necessary. I'll tell you the truth — including if the problem is something I can't solve. This is not a service for finding someone to blame. It's for getting something working.Skills in Website Administration (5) Web Hosting ManagementWebsite AdministrationWebsite MaintenanceWebsite maintenanceWebsite maintenance
Learn more about Website AdministrationDescription Paid search and social are the only channels that answer the question this week instead of in six months. That makes them the right first move for a lot of businesses — and the fastest way to burn money when nobody is watching the account. I run ads the way I run everything else: measurement first, then decisions from data. Before a single euro is spent I make sure conversions are actually being recorded — server-side where the browser can't be trusted, consent handled properly, the numbers in the ad platform matching the numbers in your CRM. Roughly half the small accounts I look at are optimising against conversion data that is quietly wrong, which means the platform's algorithm is learning from noise. After that it's the unglamorous work, every month: search-term reports and negative keywords, audience and placement cleanup, ad copy that gets tested rather than admired, bids and budgets moved toward what converts, and landing pages fixed when the problem turns out to be the page rather than the ad. I can change the landing page myself — that's the part a marketing agency has to email your developer about. One fixed fee per channel. Not a percentage of your budget, because a percentage pays me more for spending more of your money, and that is exactly the wrong incentive.Skills in Online Advertising (20) Online AdvertisingDisplay MarketingGoogle AdvertisingDigital AdDisplay MarketingDisplay AdsAdwordsDigital AdDigital Media AdvertisingGoogle Advertising+10
Learn more about Online AdvertisingDescription I've built e-commerce infrastructure for companies selling across 25+ European markets — handling multiple currencies, local payment methods, VAT across jurisdictions, and automated order pipelines. This isn't theoretical: I've shipped systems that process real transactions at scale. Based in Finland (UTC+2), working across EU jurisdictions. Whether you need a custom storefront, a B2B ordering platform, or integrations between your shop and your warehouse — I've built all of it. I know where the edge cases are (and there are always edge cases in e-commerce). I work with Next.js for custom storefronts and headless e-commerce — connected to your existing Shopify, WooCommerce, or a headless CMS. Payments via Stripe, Klarna, PayPal, or local providers.Skills in E-commerce (13) E-commerceeCommerce ConsultingeCommerce DevelopmenteCommerce Web DevelopmentElectronic commerceEcommerceEcommerce SolutionseCommerce DesignEcommerce Web DesignEcommerce Web Development+3
Learn more about E-commerceDescription An audit tells you what's broken. This is the service where I go and fix it — and keep fixing it every month. No slide decks, no strategy documents you have to hand to someone else: I get access, I work in your site, and I report what I did. It covers both surfaces at once. Google still sends most of the traffic, so the technical layer, the keywords, the content and the structured data all have to be right. But a growing share of buyers now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews instead — and those systems judge your site by different rules. That's GEO, and it's part of the same monthly work, not a separate invoice. I don't care what your site is built on. WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Next.js, Laravel, an old PHP site nobody has touched in eight years, or plain HTML on shared hosting — I've worked on all of it. Any hosting, any CMS or no CMS at all. If I can get access, I can work with it. Multilingual sites are the normal case for me, not a surcharge conversation. I've built and run sites in 30 languages, and I do keyword research per market and per language — because search demand in Finland, Germany and Spain is not the same list translated three times.Skills in SEO (21) Local SEOSEO AnalyseSEO AnalyseSEO OptimizationSEO StrategyGoogle SEOInternet Marketing SEOOnline SEOOrganic SEOOrganic SEO+11
