The special projects division for brands, artists, and agencies
Rec Department is a multidisciplinary experiential studio based at 787 Wheeler St NW in West Midtown Atlanta, and the special projects division for brands, artists, and agencies: the team you hire for the obscure, crazy-sounding build nobody else will quote. We design, engineer, fabricate, and install physical brand experiences: multi-week outdoor activations, conference main stages and breakout environments, oversized sculptural photo moments, custom furniture with electronics inside, dimensional logos, and hanging signage. The shop sculpts and finishes large-scale foam in-house (props, mascots, characters, oversized objects, fiberglass-finished over steel) and works in wood, steel, aluminum, acrylic, polycarbonate, paint, and print, with LED integration and Arduino-driven mechanisms engineered in-house. We work directly with brands and as the fabrication partner behind agencies and event producers, and clients tend to stay: Brand Apart has built with us for eight years, Dude Perfect for six, Melt Atlanta for five. Recent installs span Atlanta, Nashville, San Antonio, San Diego, Frisco, Boston, and New York. Clients and projects include Chick-fil-A, Coca-Cola, Delta, AT&T, Aflac, Dude Perfect, WK Kellogg Co, SAIA, and Vanderbilt University.
