Fu Films is a Tokyo-based documentary and non-fiction production studio specialising in directing and editorial leadership for broadcast and international projects. We work with local and global clients to deliver story-driven films across cultures and production environments. Our work is grounded in narrative craft and disciplined post-production oversight, ensuring emotional clarity and editorial coherence from development through delivery. The studio operates with a small, flexible core team, scaling through long-term collaborators as required. We lead full productions or integrate into existing teams, providing senior creative direction and broadcast-level post-production support. Fu Films was founded by British director and editor Eiji Iwakawa, who began his career in UK broadcast television at The Farm Group and brings over twenty years of experience across Japanese and international production contexts. Clients include NHK, CNN, Netflix, Amazon Prime, RedBull, Abema TV, Wieden+Kennedy, BBH, and Mother.
