The CON IL SUD Foundation is a private non-profit organization founded on November 22, 2006, from the alliance between banking foundations and the world of the third sector and volunteering, to promote the social infrastructure of the South, i.e., social cohesion paths and network best practices to foster the development of the South.
In particular, the Foundation supports "exemplary" initiatives for educating young people in legality and combating school dropout, for valuing young talents and attracting "brains" to the South, for the protection and enhancement of common goods (historical-artistic and cultural heritage, environment, social reuse of assets confiscated from the mafia), for the qualification of socio-health services, for the integration of immigrants, and in general to promote community welfare.
In 16 years, it has supported over 1,600 initiatives, including the establishment of the first 7 community foundations in the South (in the historic center and the Sanità district in Naples, in Salerno, Benevento, Messina, the Val di Noto, Agrigento, and Trapani), involving 7,000 different organizations – including non-profits, public and private entities – and disbursing a total of over 280 million euros.No review yetBe the first to write one
