FSG: Digital Support for Million Dollar Deals

Neighborhood Trust: Reducing Financial Stress

Customized tool for Samsung

Challenge: Capitalize on FSGʼs energy market leadership to capture a larger share of National Public Utility Energy Rebate Programs. Solution: We created a scalable system that demonstrates FSG’s market knowledge to attract new customers. First we captured FSG’s national shipping data (over 100,000 light bulbs a month) to determine where old technology was being sent. Then we created an interactive map to visualize the areas in dire need of Energy Rebates. Now we're making the data even stronger by allowing FSG’s 5000+ salespeople and technicians to “check in” through a gamified mobile app when they see old lighting technology.  Results: The innovative tool we created for FSG is quickly becoming a standard industry component essential for planning energy rebate programs. It has helped FSG generate exposure with utility companies across the nation and has started valuable conversations with utility companies before an RFP has been released. In addition, we've further refined the data capturing with a gamified mobile app that FSG’s 8,000 contractors use to document old lighting technology encountered in the field. This enables FSG to save even more time uncovering opportunities and has resulted in $80 million of new revenue. 

 We helped Neighborhood Trust create a user experience that keeps their low income/high debt individuals on track. The financial empowerment nonprofit came to us with a pile of PDFs and spreadsheets that their financial advisors were using to counsel low-income individuals in extreme debt. We tackled the UX challenge of helping highly stressed, change-averse and sometimes disorganized users by sitting down and talking to them about behaviors, priorities and usage patterns. We gathered their feedback on wireframes, and soon set up a testing environment that gave users a tour of the financial action’s primary pages  while analyzing everything from page flow to mouse tracking. 

Problem: Samsung LED had no integrated mechanism to record transactions with wholesale buyers who wanted product samples, leading to a siloing of information and in turn created three distinct problems: redundancies in prospective client outreach, territorial disputes among salespeople, and crippling inefficiencies in getting samples to buyers. Solution: We created an intuitive, multi-platform pipeline tool that recorded transactions as they were being made, so other salespeople, and distribution centers, could easily view who was selling what to whom and when in real-time. Results: Samsung was able to better understand where their customers were in the buying cycle, react appropriately and clearly identify the bottlenecks. Our customized tool successfully eliminated redundancies, put an end to territorial disputes amongst the salesforce, and guaranteed interested buyers quick, efficient, and accurate transactions.
