Big Bad Byte is a DevOps and performance engineering consultancy from Lithuania. We work embedded with client teams or as a self-managed pod, and our focus is simple: finding where infrastructure wastes money and throughput, then fixing the underlying causes. Recent results include reducing a client's cloud costs by 60-70% versus the initially proposed architecture, then cutting the remaining monthly bill roughly in half again after migrating to a European cloud provider. We operate approximately 40 blockchain nodes across multiple networks and a 20-node virtualization environment end to end. Our services: Cloud cost optimization (FinOps): rightsizing, autoscaling, architecture simplification on AWS, GCP, Azure and European clouds Performance engineering: load testing, JVM and database profiling, bottleneck remediation for large-scale telecom, insurance and enterprise systems DevSecOps and infrastructure: Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD, observability, migrations in both directions, PCI DSS compliance work and banking-grade deployments Blockchain infrastructure: node setup, synchronization performance, RPC reliability We are direct people. If a plan is technically unsound or wasteful, we say so and propose a better alternative. Clients keep working with us after contracts end, and companies we worked with in the past keep coming back.
