The name “Beldi”, meaning “authentic” or “local” in Arabic, is more than a label — it embodies the spirit, identity, and values of our cooperative. It reflects our deep commitment to: Authenticity : We tell stories that are rooted withing stories of real people, real places, and real experiences. Our content honors the everyday realities, struggles, and beauty of local life — without exoticism or distortion. Every project aims to represent communities with dignity, nuance, and truth. Proximity : As a community-centered cooperative, we work from within. Our approach is based on trust, collaboration, and long-term engagement with the people and places we film. We believe that meaningful content emerges from shared spaces and lived relationships. Empowerment : We strive to give visibility and voice to those who are often excluded from dominant media narratives — especially women, youth, rural populations, and positive masculinity movement. By involving communities directly in the storytelling process, we turn media into a tool for expression, inclusion, and agency. In short, “Beldi” is not just where we work — it’s how we work.
