VerhaalWe founded Saint-Lazare in Paris in 2000 and, as a member of Grand Bureau, have grown into an Art Direction and Graphic Design studio operating between Paris and New York. From the beginning we were obsessed with the small choices that trigger emotion — a shape, a hue, the rhythm of a logotype. We call that work narrative design: uncovering what makes a brand authentic and then shaping every visual decision around that story. Early challenges — tight briefs, shifting markets, the demands of two cities — taught us to turn intuition into strategy. Today we still begin each project by listening, defining the narrative and setting a clear direction, always in search of meaning.
