    Dear Sir/Madam,
    Firstly, thank you for taking the time to consider appointing Interaction to accompany Airtrain on its next phase of development. I believe that our culture, expertise and experience could potentially be a very good fit for ‘Airtrain’.

    As the main person in charge of account service, I thought it would be appropriate to give you some background information about myself.

    As the Managing Director of Interaction, I am highly experienced at senior management levels of reporting to affiliate partners and Client Boards of Directors. In addition, I have, and continue to work with Chief Executive Officers, both from highly commercial perspectives and social, community and religious sources (including Cathedral of St Stephen, and in position as Chairperson), over a period spanning more than four decades. I also note that my current and long standing tenure at Interaction Communications Group (a full service advertising agency, marketing and brand consultancy), which I founded in 1985 has allowed me as the Agency’s Creative Strategist and Senior Planner the opportunity to work across extensively varied businesses and platforms.

    Over the years at Interaction, the Fortune Communications group, and Hanimex Fuji, I have acquired extensive experience on both sides of the marketing/communications fence, which has equipped me with a tremendous understanding of how to address business problems and provide strategic, effective marketing and management solutions. I have a thorough understanding of the methodology and practicalities of the brand building process and a keen eye for identifying a position for a product/service in the marketplace, to allow the product to ‘own’ their market category. Finally I should mention that I have achieved senior ‘Fellow’ status with the Australian Marketing Institute.

    I continue to share my knowledge and experience with government and substantial corporate and privately owned organisations where I can make a real contribution to the successful performance of the business by applying my skills in communication, strategic marketing and business development, identifying opportunities and providing solutions to problems.
    I am proud to mention that I have achieved many ‘firsts’ in my career:

    • My deep appreciation for 'brands' came as a result of my tenure in Sydney, Australia, and later in the UK in London.
    • On my return to Australia, I was approached by a leading UK headquartered multinational Communications Group DMB&B to take over its Brisbane Agency, which I accepted and affiliated with. My vision from the onset of establishing Interaction was that there was a need in Brisbane for such a product offering as a purest brand consultancy; and regardless of time and 'branding' becoming 'fashionable', few even today really understand what ‘branding’ really means, and what it can achieve, done well!
    • My ability to Identify the need, conceptualise and manage the first purest strategy and planning unit to operate from within an advertising agency group in Australia, namely Fortune Communications Holdings t/as Schofield Sherbon Baker, DFS Australia, the Weston Company and Hammond Advertising and eight ‘below the line’ companies.
    • Prior, in the position as group marketing and sales manager for Hanimex Fuji, having successfully introduced into Australia new photographic and leisure products, utilising innovative distribution channels to guarantee a strong foothold onto the market. In the process, being responsible for the formation and initial management of several large pharmacy buying groups with the support of Pharmacy Guild of Australia.
    • Also whilst at Hanimex Fuji I was responsible for the highly successful establishment of a national film processing division which became the largest, overtaking Kodak and all its major competitors in every market it serviced by the end of its first year of operation.
    • Being responsible for the conceptualising and successful new product development for: Queensland Police Service ‘Police Beat’; Continental Airline’s ‘Pub in the Sky’; Inghams chicken pieces; Canterbury fashion sports clothing range; Bristowe Farm coated hazelnuts; Good One flavoured milk; CSR Fresco wall panelling; PGH ‘Special Shapes’ bricks; Lullaby Pillow Top and After Dark Collection bedding; Simmons Maxipedic Bedding; Simmons Beautyrest furniture range; CSR ‘Export’ Macadamia Nuts; Long Homes ‘Limited Edition’; N.S.W. Building Society Step Up Account; Griffith University courses, Ergon Energy Products/Services, and lastly but not least, the relaunch of Toyota and its iconic ‘Oh What a Feeling’ theming in the early eighties.
    My professional strengths include:
    • I have achieved formal recognition of my marketing abilities and achievements with the designated certification by the Australian Marketing Institute as a distinguished Fellow Marketer (FAMI, CPM, MAIDC).
    • Interpreting research and understanding the overall market landscape, and their respective needs, demands and the sort-after responses through development of tightly clearly defined communication strategies to effectively communicate with corporate, trade/industry/commercial, B2B and consumer/end user.
    • Thus I possess a thorough understanding of the methodology and practicabilities required to convincingly convey behavioural and attitudinal change processes, and secure ‘buy in’.
    • Experience at Senior Management levels reporting to Boards of Directors, Chief Executive Officer's and partners over a period spanning more than four decades.
    • Preparation and presentation skills to media, industry and consumer groups at major media events over decades (e.g. Channel 10 Olympic Games Toyota Sponsorship and Bicentennial Sponsorship etc).
    • Broad experience across most product and services categories including attitudinal/behavioural change; corporate; brand, product and services; retailing; from concept development through to full implementation.
    • Ability to handle difficult tasks with ease and complex problem solving. Also, to provide leadership and work within a lean, responsive group of professionals to establish confidence and trust. Furthermore, to communicate clearly and concisely with a wide range of people at all levels of society.
    • Ability to recognise, motivate, utilise and develop people hence possess strong negotiating skills.
    • Extensive experience in identifying and addressing ‘risk management’ situations from both business and personal perspectives; and in relation to business increasing the viability through the introduction of ‘value added’ enhancement schemes.
    • Knowledge and respect of overseas trading conditions and cultures i.e. Japanese, Chinese and Middle Eastern etc.
    • My integrity and transparency has been foremost in all business dealings over thirty five years as founder and CEO of Interaction Communications Group.

    Finally, I am straightforward and transparent, pragmatic, sensible and responsible, thorough and detailed, visionary and imaginative; I genuinely like people and therefore I am socially embracing.
