Its immersive media practice encompasses **Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Extended Reality (XR)**, exploring how emerging technologies can transform storytelling, education, entertainment, communication and audience engagement. The studio combines creative direction, visual development, animation and research to design experiences that are purposeful, culturally relevant and accessible to their intended audiences. A key example is **The World of Kurhwa**, an original African game and entertainment property for which Lightbulbs & Lazers is developing characters, environments, animation and promotional documentary content. Lightbulbs & Lazers is a Zimbabwean animation and creative production studio specialising in 2D and 3D animation, visual storytelling and research-led creative communication. Based in Harare, the studio develops and produces content for film, advertising, entertainment, public-interest communication and social causes, combining creative production expertise with research, technology and responsible storytelling.** The studio works across the full creative development and production process, from research and concept development through story development, character design, animation, production and post-production. Its research-led approach enables Lightbulbs & Lazers to develop stories and communication that are culturally relevant, audience-focused and grounded in evidence and context. This is particularly valuable for projects addressing complex social, behavioural and development issues, where effective communication requires more than visual execution alone. Lightbulbs & Lazers has experience producing both **2D and 3D animated content**, with its capabilities extending across animated film and series production, advertising, digital campaigns, educational and social-impact content, documentaries, comics and transmedia storytelling. The studio also explores emerging technologies including **Virtual Reality (VR) and Extended Reality (XR)** as tools for immersive storytelling, communication and creative experimentation. Its original intellectual property includes **Body Count**, a Zimbabwean animated drama series that progressed from development through production, public screenings and digital release, alongside the *Body Count: The Glow-Up* comic book. The studio is also developing **The World of Kurhwa**, an original African game and entertainment property supported by documentary and promotional content.
