GeschichteWe launched Kaboom Animation Festival in 2019 with a simple belief: animation deserves a dedicated stage where curiosity and craft meet. From our base in the Netherlands we built a festival that celebrates everything animated — from experimental arthouse to luminous, character-led tales. Creating a hybrid event across Utrecht and Amsterdam pushed us to learn fast: producing seamless online programmes, curating balanced line-ups and keeping the audience connected even when screens replaced seats. Our team thrives on discovering work that surprises and on creating moments where filmmakers and viewers can exchange ideas. Every edition reminds us why we started: to be the one-stop place where new voices in animation are seen, heard and celebrated.
