Millions of products vie for buyers\u2019 attention, which means that <strong>the power of words and product title optimization can\u2019t be overstated<\/strong> when it comes to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sortlist.com\/ecommerce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">e-commerce<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research shows that accurate and well-written beauty product titles and descriptions can increase conversion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lupasearch.com\/blog\/how-do-product-descriptions-affect-conversion-rates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">by up to 78%<\/a>. With that in mind, we\u2019ve looked at the <strong>product titles<\/strong> and <strong>descriptions <\/strong>of 11,000 best-selling beauty products to find out\u2026 What do they have in common?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">TL;DR: How to make the most out of your beauty product titles and descriptions:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After looking at 11,000 best-selling products, we found the terms that sell beauty the most are: &#8220;<strong>black<\/strong>&#8221; (79.97%), &#8220;<strong>paraben free<\/strong>&#8221; (69.34%), &#8220;<strong>vitamin c<\/strong>&#8221; (57.07%), &#8220;<strong>fragrance free<\/strong>&#8221; (47.04%), and &#8220;<strong>original<\/strong>&#8221; (42.9%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Our analysis shows that product <strong>should not exceed 8-10 words<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Create product descriptions <strong>no shorter than 300 words<\/strong> for your beauty products to justify high prices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Our study shows <strong>almost none of the best-selling products have emojis<\/strong> in their descriptions. see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:30px\">Longer titles lead to less sales\u2026<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Our study for the beauty industry confirms an outspoken rule in marketing: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/forbesbusinesscouncil\/2023\/10\/27\/todays-marketing-lesson-people-dont-read\/\">people don\u2019t read<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sortlist analysis shows that attention span<\/a> and merchants\u2019 need for sales without sacrificing quality in their listings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" justify a higher value or reflect a more complex product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Still, the significant spread of the data points at higher word counts indicates that longer descriptions do not guarantee a higher price point, and pricing strategies are likely influenced by a combination of factors including brand, quality, market positioning, and consumer perception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div clear trend is seen in the graph, in which products that have received more than 10,000 reviews have a product description that is \u201cfairly difficult to read\u201d (around 60\/100), or the equivalent of a 15-year-old\u2019s reading level.<br>That\u2019s at least according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/readable.com\/readability\/flesch-reading-ease-flesch-kincaid-grade-level\/\">Flesch Reading Ease test<\/a>, designed to indicate how difficult a passage in English is to understand; the higher the score for any text, the easier it is to read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5e41dc1c07608020beb40dc36120ffb8\" style=\"color:#200df2\"><strong><em>Action point<\/em><\/strong>: Add bullet points, bold texts, and short sentences to your beauty product descriptions If you stick to some of the words and phrases that are common in the titles and descriptions of the best-selling beauty items, you\u2019re bound to <strong>find success<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember: 8-10 words is the <strong>optimal title length<\/strong> for your products. And make you include terms that are shown to boost sales like \u201cparaben-free\u201d and \u201cprofessional.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For product descriptions, readability is key. First of all, make sure to include bullet points and bold texts, and keep the entire description <strong>at 300 words<\/strong> for your beauty products.
