Our relationship with <strong>social tools<\/strong> like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sortlist.com\/social-media\/dubai-ae\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">social media<\/a> and other digital platforms has shifted, as well as the different reasons why we use them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>But how exactly have they changed?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sortlist decided to conduct a survey with almost 1000 respondents across France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands to discover <strong>how different generations use social media<\/strong>, and social tools, as a response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Between April 2019 and April 2020, there was an<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hootsuite.com\/simon-kemp-social-media\/#:~:text=Internet%20users%20have%20grown%20by%207.6%25%20over%20the%20past%20year,4.33%20billion%20by%20April%202021.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> increase of 300 million<\/a> new social media users. With almost no surprise, France (35%) and Germany (32%) had the most respondents saying yes. Despite the criticism they receive, they took on a protagonist role in 2020, where their true relevance came to light: calling, seeing each other, and staying close, beyond liking, sharing, and swiping away.\u00a0 If <strong>Millenials<\/strong> grew up with it and uses it for everything, <strong>Baby Boomers<\/strong> only log in from time to time to keep in touch with their loved ones. This shows that social media marketing and social media strategy can have a lasting impact on more than one age group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But viral dance videos seem to bring everyone together. TikTok has brought children and grandparents together in some very creative ways. As Granddad Joe would say to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/lifestyle\/2020\/05\/14\/grandparents-are-dancing-with-their-grandkids-tiktok-people-cant-get-enough\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Washington Post<\/a> about his 4.2M followers: <em>\u201cI don\u2019t do it for the fame. I do it for the tremendous fun with my granddaughter.\u201d<\/em> and that\u2019s truly all it is, being together.<\/p>\n\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"section-63515e67e53b2\"
